TOEIC Examination
The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is "an English language test designed specifically to measure the everyday English skills of people working in an international environment."
There are different forms of the exam: The TOEIC Listening & Reading Test consists of two equally graded tests of comprehension assessment activities totaling a possible 990 score; the newer TOEIC Speaking & Writing Test comprises tests of pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, fluency, overall coherence, and structure (organization of sentences) totaling a possible 400 score.
TOEIC Listening & Reading Test
The TOEIC Listening & Reading Test is a two-hour multiple-choice test consisting of 200 questions evenly divided into listening comprehension and reading comprehension. Each candidate receives independent scores for listening and reading comprehension on a scale from 5 to 495 points.
The total score adds up to a scale from 10 to 990 points. The TOEIC certificate exists in five colors, corresponding to achieved results:
orange (10–215)
brown (220–465)
green (470–725)
blue (730–850)
gold (855–990)
TOEIC Speaking & Writing Test
The TOEIC Speaking & Writing Test was introduced in 2006. Test takers receive separate scores for each of the two tests, or can take the Speaking test without taking the Writing test. The Speaking test assesses pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and fluency, while the Writing test examines vocabulary, grammar, and overall coherence and organization.
The tests are designed to reflect actual English usage in the workplace, though they do not require any knowledge of specialized business terms. The TOEIC Speaking Test takes approximately 20 minutes to complete; the TOEIC writing test lasts approximately 60 minutes.
Each test has a score range between 0-200, with test takers grouped into eight proficiency levels.

To be confident using a word, you need to practice it in real conversations. The importance of this can’t be stressed enough.

PRONUNCIATION
Pronunciation is the next most important after vocabulary.
You need words first, but then you need pronunciation, because it’s no use having words if people can’t understand the words when you say!
When you talk to a person in real life, they may not notice your limited vocabulary or grammar mistakes. But they will notice right away if your pronunciation is good or bad.
In business, pronunciation is important as you want your clients to get a clear understanding of the business agreement or quotation.
This course will develop your speaking skills and vocabulary as well as your pronunciation so you sound more fluent, natural and professional.
EMAIL WRITING
Email is the most used form of business communication today. Being able to write clear and easily understood email messages is essential in China’s fast-paced and competitive business environment.
The aim of this course is to enable you to learn how to write clear, effective business emails in English, as well as building your English grammar and Vocabulary. You will learn how to organize the content of your emails logically and write clearly in English quickly.
BUSINESS WRITING
Being able to communicate effectively in written English at work is important as you need the recipient to get a clear understanding of what you are writing about. You will be able to write effective business documents that get results including business reports and relevant documents for meetings.
Being able to communicate accurately and fluently in English writing in China’s competitive international business environment is essential for company profits but also vital for success in your career. The most successful business people in China all have excellent English writing skills. Good business English writing skills are something that every employee in China, from clerk to manager and senior executive must have.
BUSINESS LETTERS
Business letters are formal paper communications between you and other businesses and usually sent through the Post Office or sometimes by courier. Business letters are sometimes called "snail-mail" (in contrast to email which is faster). This lesson concentrates on business letters but also looks at other business correspondence.

Who writes Business Letters?
Most people who have an occupation have to write business letters. Some write many letters each day and others only write a few letters over the course of a career. Business people also read letters on a daily basis. Letters are written from a person/group, known as the sender to a person/group, known in business as the recipient.
BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
After this course you will be able to communicate with foreigners clearly and effectively in a variety of business and social situations.
To communicate accurately and fluently in China’s global trading environment, English is essential if you have to do business with foreign clients or have meetings with your foreign staff. As an Executive or Manager good Business English Skills are something that you MUST have.
The aim of this course is to enable you to learn Spoken and Written English quickly so that you can meet and work with foreigners easily and confidently.
BUSINESS MEETINGS
One of the most common requirements of business English is holding meetings in English. This course provides useful language and phrases for conducting meetings and making contributions to a meeting.
